I am truly humbled to inform you that we have now completed fifteen years of online publishing of ArtNow Pakistan!
ArtNow Pakistan has devoted 15 incredible years to the arts. From reporting on biennales, art festivals, Freize and other exhibitions around the world, we bring exciting profiles of local and international, young and older artists. We have always tried to celebrate and chronicle the constantly changing contemporary art landscape of Pakistan!
Our laborious journey has been about more than just coverage—it has been about creating spaces, fostering conversations, and critically shaping the discourse on contemporary art. From organizing art sessions at the Karachi Literature Festival and Islamabad Literature Festival, featuring talks, exhibitions, book launches, and photo displays, children’s art competition, and art exhibitions to being a part of the Terrace Talks at Art Dubai, curating shows and hosting discussions, ArtNow Pakistan has remained at the heart of artistic dialogue.
Over the years, ArtNow Pakistan has honored legendary artists and art critics with Lifetime Achievement Awards, recognizing their invaluable contributions. We have published over 100,000 commissioned critical essays, reviews, and profiles, enriching the academic and artistic landscape. We have also provided several
opportunities by introducing yearly internships to young artists, writers, and students to hone their craft and acquire industry experience that have helped them reach their goals and create a nursery of good writers.
We have also published quarterly print magazines, which were a product of true passion and love. The one-of-a-kind art magazine “The ArtNow Newspaper” was immensely loved by the magazine’s followers all around the world.
Moreover, a large library of art books has been donated to university libraries in Pakistan, especially Karachi, making critical resources available to art students for research. ArtNow Pakistan has also brought insightful guest editorials from the corporate and art world.
Over all these years, ArtNow Pakistan has grown, adapted to change, and continued to be a significant force in the art world. To remain attuned to the continually expanding creative sphere, we recently introduced a new segment—ArtNow Uncut. This venture includes important figures from the world of art, such as curators, artists, gallerists and academics. The reaction on social media has been tremendous, with gratitude and love flooding in from around the world. Apart from recording and documenting art, we have also created a large archive, which is an invaluable source for students who often contact us on social media, explaining how ArtNow Pakistan has helped them in their research and work.
Talking of social media, I must express here the commitment and hard work of our social media team. With an increasing network of followers, each month’s edition inspires us to do more…..
