This month Art Now Pakistan has brought an exciting issue to commemorate the Pioneers of the art, The Karachi School of Art. Details in my editorial
Welcome to our July edition of Artnow, featuring interesting articles, art news, interviews, and more.
In this issue, we have highlighted the oldest school of art in Karachi, the Karachi School of Art.
This month’s title is “Pioneers of Art: The Karachi School of Art”. The issue commemorates the legacy of Rabia Zuberi, the founder and Pioneer of KSA. It also has an exclusive interview of Imran Zuberi, the Executive Director of the institute. You will also find an in-depth editorial by Quddus Mirza on the life and art trajectory of Rabia Zuberi, and a Photo Essay for readers to remember the life and times of KSA.
As Karachi School of Art continues to nurture creative talent, it’s exciting to envision the next step in its academic journey. Building on its strong foundation, KSA could consider expanding its educational offerings.
The July issue also includes an essay on Rabiya Zuberi by Maheen Aziz, as well as reviews from Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Our blog section covers international art exhibitions. Please do not miss.
Malaika Rahimtoola has written an interesting essay on contemporary artist Anselm Kiefer, whose works are presented at the Royal Academy.
Also included in this issue are the varios art exhibitions covered by our writers. These were “The Eye of the Storm” curated by Aasim Akhtar at Chawkandi, and a Contemporary Miniature Exhibition at Art Scene Gallery, to name a few.
Stay tuned for more art news !!
Bye for NOW !!
