Art is the language of expression through materials and its knowledge which communicates with the audience. In terms of the relationship between past and present, and how our developing interest in questions of matter and materiality might fundamentally reshape our thinking around visual culture, is where art steps in.

A recent view of Art and Design master’s thesis at BNU is a pertinent reflection on our current state of existence, commenting on this period of transformation, but offering alternative perspectives as well. The exhibition presents a rare opportunity to observe what has arisen in the wake of the socio-economic, and political, sense of appreciation and gratitude of our natural surroundings.

His main objectives is to connect micro and macro perspective and understanding how practices that surround artifacts are formed through its cultural values. Examining the way artifact are integrated and functioning in cultural value system can contribute to a deeper understanding of user’s appreciation.

Taking into account these variables, the interpretation of the work of art, thus became something that is never definitively given, but on the contrary, it is configure as a dynamic practice, constantly renegotiated according to the artists’ reference culture.

The work of art became a textual system as we seen in Abida’s work: Where she’s experiencing a complex existence repetitively. The application of this art practice is undoubtedly one of its most interesting outcomes, even if it is seemingly oxymononic. Nowadays, visual culture as an inter-disciplinary project of analysis of visual language, where images are studied as a set of practices that may not only, they use but also their meaning. According to her text imagery there are elements of social structure and connections among people and society to emphasizing the commonalities and trying to engage the viewers to creating a nuanced narrative in an illusionary manner

If we compare all these artworks, on one hand, this is visual culture, the images with their virtuality, on the other hand, there would be material culture, the objects with their thickness, weight, and materiality. On one side, there would be the images that are looked at, and on the other side there would be the objects that are predominantly used. However, we must acknowledge that, starting with the advent of photography and subsequent of the multimedia languages, the society has now structured its knowledge and social dynamics predominantly around images and objects. Reality passes is experienced and even created through images and objects. All the visual components are acquiring overall the other way of experiencing reality, as in the context continuum in which we live, the boundary between real, virtual and functional had become increasingly thin.

In such, visual context objects become part of syncretic, visual, audio visual, textual texts that are declined in a polysystemic perspective, replicated, translated and continually re-elaborated, according to the specific codes of the different social networks or virtual context and in such virtual spaces, objects find themselves, playing roles that are neither foreseen nor predictable and meaning new relationships with time, space and subjects.

The works examining the materiality and expressive potential as a way of highlighting both under examined objects of the original materials with  artists’ work and various taken-for-granted assumptions about what order of things matters. I’m probing my concerns are not simply methodological but also ontological and epistemological.
