This exhibition celebrated the launch of the VM Centre for Traditional Arts and its new diploma Programme – which is targeted to begin from January 2019 in partnership with the Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts, London.
The school of traditional arts has been at the frontline of research for more than 30 years. Their research is based on making traditional art a contemporary practice. This school is recognised for its academic and research excellence, its high standards of practical skill and artisanship, and for its open and holistic philosophy. Through this initiative towards traditional art, VMCTA aims to ensure that local art is able to flourish by teaching and practicing it at high standards.
The exhibition showcased work from the Diploma Programme tutors, alumni and students – using skills taught by the School of Traditional Arts in recent workshops at VMCTA.
