Shelley Pirzada came to Pakistan from India 22 years ago, having studied photojournalism from the London College of Printing and having worked in New Delhi, her previous home. Married to a Pakistani, she has worked as a commerciel photographer and has been associated with several leading publications. Here, Pirzada depicts the happier side of the city which she explored with an investigative eye and a emotional investment. She calls the set of pictures ‘Karachi’s smiles’.
