Ayesha Siddiqui has a doctoral degree in Fine Arts (Studio Practice) from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. Her practice explores the ideas of concealment and illegibility. She has the honour of representing Pakistan in the Asian Art Biennale in 2008, 2010, 2014 and 2016 in Dhaka, Bangladesh and in the Asian Art Expo in Beijing, China in 2011 and 2012. Siddiqui has participated in numerous group shows in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Jordan, China, New Zealand and U.K. Her paintings are in many important public, corporate and private collections in many countries. She has read papers at international seminars and has published articles on the contemporary painting trends in Pakistan. Currently she is working on her book “Unintelligible Surfaces”.
