Koel Gallery is thrilled to present Drawn to Form II: Marking New Spaces. This exhibition brings together the diverse practices of Abdullah M. I. Syed, Ali Kazim, Naima Dadabhoy, Noor Ali Chagani and Sadia Salim in a dialogue exploring the intersection between ceramics and drawing.
A continuation of Drawn to Form I: The Matter in Hand which took place at the Blacktown Arts Center in Sydney, Australia in 2015, the exhibition uses the lens of both history and the present to understand the generative possibilities of drawing and ceramics as practices that have remained at once sedimented and evolved. The artists are all particularly inspired by the lived environment, sharing concerns around ecologies and surrounding landscape, which allows them comment on both traditions and the contemporary
The exhibition opens on Thursday, July 5th at 5-8 pm. Exhibition continues till August, 2nd.
There will be a talk with the artists Abdullah M. I. Syed, Naima Dadabhoy and Sadia Salim, moderated by curator Aziz Sohail at Koel Gallery on Saturday, 7 July, 4 PM
