Gallery Wendi Norris is pleased to announce Dorothea Tanning: Behind the Door, Another Invisible Door, a highly anticipated retrospective at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, in collaboration with the Tate Modern, London, opening tomorrow.

The exhibition at the Reina Sofia, Madrid, will run from October 3, 2018 – January 7, 2019, then travel to the Tate Modern, London, from February 27 – June 9, 2019, as the first major retrospective of Tanning’s work in the United Kingdom since 1993. This comprehensive retrospective includes her expressive body of work produced over six decades from the 1930s to the 1990s between the United States and France. It will feature over 150 works including paintings, drawings, costume and set designs for ballets, “soft” sculptures, novels and poems.

The exhibition was organized by the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and curated by Alyce Mahon.
