Studion Seven hosted a show by four graduates, Asad Ali Naqvi, Sheikh Khadija Amin, Usman Khalid, Zaniab Abdul Hassan under the name “A Tinge of Space”. Artist employed traditional and contemporary techniques based on their personal narrative.
Works presented by the artists dominantly used printmaking and painting techniques. Instead of the subject, artists focused on the areas around them or an area in which there is no subject.
Naqvi experimented with different techniques to form his own style. Khadija Amin evaluated the stillness and emptiness of the passages and the things that grandmother once used in her work. Usman Khalid used pure white to construct a narrative. Abdul covered her subject in a veil or in specific “Chadar”- as a shield from eternal harm.
