Parto Rohela (1933 – 2016) was a government servant and a poet. In 1975, he requested Sadequain to make drawings for his upcoming book “Rainn Ujyara”. Keeping up his tradition, Sadequain not only delicately made attractive and wonderful drawings for dohay which are in the book, but also gifted the family other paintings and calligraphies. Sometime back, the family brought this hidden treasure to the attention of the Sadequain Foundation, USA. The Foundation directed it to Gallery 6 Islamabad with advice for making these available to the public through exhibition and sale for acquisition by Sadequain’s admirers. This would help to spread and preserve the gems, which is in line with the Foundation’s mission to discover, preserve, and promote Sadequain’s art.
A copy of original “Rainn Ujyara” is available at the Gallery. Detailed provenance and authenticity certificates for each drawing will be provided by Gallery 6 and Sadequain Foundation USA.
